Fire Sprinkler Designer

to contribute technical expertise and design excellence to a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential projects throughout the Portland area.

Position Summary The Fire Sprinkler Designer is responsible for creating accurate and detailed fire sprinkler system designs using

SprinkCAD . This role involves collaborating with project managers, field teams, and AHJs to ensure all systems meet NFPA standards, local codes, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Design automatic fire sprinkler systems using SprinkCAD and AutoCAD.

Prepare detailed layout drawings, hydraulic calculations, and material lists.

Review architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical plans to coordinate system design.

Ensure designs comply with NFPA standards, building codes, and local fire department requirements.

Submit plans for approval to the appropriate authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ).

Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and field personnel throughout the project lifecycle.

Assist in project coordination meetings to ensure design intent is maintained during installation.

Provide technical support and resolve design-related issues during construction.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in fire sprinkler system design.

Proficiency with SprinkCAD and AutoCAD required.

Strong understanding of NFPA 13, NFPA 14, and local building/fire codes.

NICET Level II or higher in Water-Based Systems Layout preferred.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
