What the role is about Total Rewards Manager is to help drive our people and culture strategies through accurate payroll, competitive benefits and execution of compensation programs throughout the organization. The Total Rewards Manager is responsible for ensuring that Vireo’s Total Rewards (compensation, benefits, and payroll) are competitive, sustainable, scalable and have a positive impact on our performance and to enable a culture where Vireo is and can be the Employer of Choice for current and future employees. This role will manage the day‑to‑day workflow of all total rewards, including Employee Benefits & Perks, Compensation, and Payroll, & HRIS Management.

What impact you’ll make Benefits

Develop and manage the company’s benefits strategy, ensuring competitiveness, compliance, and alignment with business goals

Partner with vendors and internal teams to design and administer health, retirement, wellness, and other employee benefit programs

Analyze utilization data to optimize programs and enhance employee value

Lead benefits communications, new hire orientations, and annual enrollment to ensure employee understanding and engagement

Oversee 401(k) plan administration, compliance, and employee education in partnership with vendors and Finance

Payroll

Lead payroll operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all pay cycles

Partner with HR and Finance to optimize systems, integrations, and reporting within HRIS

Manage relationships with payroll and stock option vendors; ensure accurate processing of deductions, benefits, and tips

Stay current on payroll and equity plan regulations, updating policies and processes as needed

Compensation

Design and implement competitive compensation structures that attract, retain, and motivate employees

Ensure pay equity, FLSA compliance, and consistency across all roles and departments

Additional Responsibilities

Oversee HRIS configuration and reporting to ensure data accuracy and alignment with People team strategy

Partner with HR leadership to deliver training, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement across rewards programs

What you’ve accomplished

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field.

7+ years of progressive experience in total rewards management, specifically in the functional areas of payroll, benefits and/or compensation management.

3+ years of people leadership experience

Comprehensive knowledge of benefits regulations (e.g. ERISA, ACA) and payroll laws, with experience managing complex benefit plans and payroll systems.

Proven track record of designing and implementing successful compensation programs, specifically annual, quarterly or monthly incentives to drive growth and engagement within an organization.

Experience designing, managing and executing compensation salary bands, ranges and market analysis.

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in data analysis tools, with the ability to tell a story and make recommendations utilizing data to support.

Excellent communication, negotiation, an interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.

Customer‑focused attitude, with a high level of professionalism and exceptional integrity

Strong written and verbal communication skills

What would make you stand out

Master's degree in a relevant field

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.

Experience working in a public company environment in the total rewards function

Prior experience working in a fast‑paced corporate and/or start‑up environment.

Salary Range $130,000‑$145,000
