Description
Seeking a Director of Med Surgery for a 100‑bed Short Term Acute Care, For‑Profit hospital. The hospital offers a positive work environment where personnel work as a team to provide high‑quality care. We are looking for a leader with excellent communication skills and strategic, inspirational leadership.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
Direct and evaluate departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
Plan and monitor staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
Prepare, monitor, and evaluate departmental budgets, and ensure the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
Coordinate and direct internal/external audits. Create and foster an environment that encourages professional growth.
Integrate evidence‑based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
Direct the department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
Handle a stressful environment, working with minimal supervision, exercising critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
Qualifications
Valid Kentucky Nursing License or Compact Status.
Minimum of 2 years of progressive leadership experience.
Certifications: BLS and ACLS required.
Excellent communication skills across all levels.
