
Overview
Zurich is seeking an experienced Senior Energy Oil, Gas & Power Gen Underwriter (Senior Level III or AVP Level IV) to join our National Accounts team in Zurich’s New York or Houston office. Hybrid work is available with a flexible schedule; candidates should be visible in the marketplace to meet with agents and brokers and be in the office/market three days per week. The role may be filled at Senior Level III or AVP Level IV depending on experience and qualifications. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based on the selected applicant’s experience relative to the qualifications listed for this position. Responsibilities
Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating annual rules. Develop, maintain and collaborate with Line of Business representatives on referrals and other business-related needs, as appropriate. May provide guidance to lower level associates. Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (agents & brokers) in support of business retention and acquisition; work with customers and distributors to determine insurance-related needs and provide solutions. Support the sales culture by being a Help Point for agents, brokers and customers. Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities. Complete detailed opportunity assessment with key distributors to identify growth opportunities. Qualify accounts to meet the organization’s appetite, balanced with sound business opportunity. Make broker/customer on-site calls with a planned and well-prepared purpose. Basic Qualifications
Senior Level III
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5+ years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10+ years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 3+ years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 8+ years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area AND Knowledge of Microsoft Office Experience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business Experience working in a team environment AVP Level IV
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7+ years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 14+ years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 5+ years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 12+ years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area AND Experience with Microsoft Office Preferred Qualifications (Both Levels)

Zurich maintains a comprehensive employee benefits package and compensation. The salary ranges are nationwide market ranges and may be adjusted for geographic differentials. The combined salary range for this position is $122,900.00 - $266,300.00. The proposed salary range for the Senior level is $122,900.00 - $201,300.00 with 15% short-term incentive bonus eligibility. The proposed salary range for the AVP Level is $162,500.00 - $266,300.00 with 20% short-term incentive bonus eligibility.
