The
Business Analyst (BA) Digital Asset Management (DAM)
will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders, creative teams, and technical teams to ensure effective implementation, optimization, and governance of the DAM platform. The role involves gathering requirements, analyzing workflows, defining metadata schemas, supporting integrations, and driving adoption of digital asset management best practices across the organization. Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering & Analysis Collaborate with business units, creative, marketing, and IT teams to identify DAM needs, use cases, and workflow improvements. Document business and functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Translate business needs into technical specifications for DAM configuration and integration. System Implementation & Optimization Support the design, configuration, and rollout of the DAM platform (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Assets, Bynder, Widen, Aprimo, OpenText, etc.). Work with developers, system integrators, and vendors to ensure successful implementation. Conduct system testing, UAT, and validate data migration and metadata accuracy. Metadata, Taxonomy, and Governance Develop and maintain metadata schemas, controlled vocabularies, and taxonomy structures. Define asset governance rules, version control, and access permissions. Ensure compliance with digital rights management (DRM) and brand guidelines. Process Improvement & User Enablement Analyze current content workflows and propose process optimizations. Develop training materials and conduct user training sessions. Monitor system adoption and gather feedback for continuous improvement. Reporting & Insights Create reports and dashboards to track DAM usage, asset lifecycle, and system performance. Support KPIs for digital asset efficiency and user engagement. Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Library Science, Digital Media, or related field. Experience:
3–6 years of experience as a Business Analyst, ideally with at least 2 years focused on DAM or related digital platforms. Experience working with DAM platforms (e.g., AEM Assets, Bynder, Brandfolder, Widen, Aprimo, or similar). Understanding of metadata, taxonomy, and content lifecycle management. Familiarity with API integrations, content management systems (CMS), and marketing automation tools is a plus. Skills: Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and translate technical language into business terms. Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies. Understanding of digital content workflows, rights management, and creative production processes. Preferred Certifications (Optional)
Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or PMI-PBA Vendor-specific DAM certification (e.g., Adobe Certified Expert AEM Assets) Agile or Scrum certification Detail-oriented and process-driven Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills Passion for improving digital content workflows and governance Ability to balance business priorities with technical feasibility Seniority level
