
We are working with a leading long/short equity investment firm seeking to add a
Biotech Equity Analyst
to its investment team. This is an opportunity to join a highly collaborative platform with a strong track record of fundamental investing across public healthcare markets.
Role Overview The analyst will be responsible for generating differentiated investment ideas across the biotechnology sector, supporting portfolio construction, and contributing directly to investment decisions on the long and short sides.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct deep fundamental research on biotechnology companies across multiple sub-sectors and stages
Build and maintain detailed financial models and valuation analyses
Develop long and short investment theses and present ideas to the PM
Monitor portfolio holdings, track catalysts, and update investment views
Engage with management teams, physicians, KOLs, and industry experts
Qualifications
2–6+ years of experience in biotech equity research, L/S hedge funds, or relevant buy-side roles
Strong scientific background (PhD, MD, or advanced life sciences training preferred, but not required)
Demonstrated ability to generate actionable investment ideas
Excellent analytical, communication, and writing skills
Passion for public markets and biotechnology investing
