Senior to AVP-level E&S Package Underwriter
to join its growing underwriting team. This is an opportunity to underwrite complex and diverse middle-market risks with meaningful authority at a well-capitalized, highly respected platform known for underwriting discipline, broker relationships, and long-term stability.

Role Overview This role will focus on underwriting E&S package (middle/large) business across a broad range of industries, partnering closely with wholesale brokers to deliver tailored coverage solutions. The position offers significant autonomy, strong leadership visibility, and the ability to help drive profitable growth in a collaborative underwriting culture.
Key Responsibilities
Underwrite E&S package business, including GL, property, and ancillary lines, within delegated authority
Evaluate, price, and structure risks while ensuring underwriting discipline and profitability
Build and maintain strong relationships with top wholesale brokerage partners
Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing to align with risk appetite and market conditions
Manage a profitable book of business with a focus on long-term account development
Contribute to portfolio management, product development, and underwriting strategy as experience dictates
Mentor junior underwriters (for senior/AVP-level hires) and provide thought leadership within the team
Target Profile
5-15+ years of E&S underwriting experience, with a strong focus on
package business
Established wholesale broker relationships and proven production capability
Strong technical underwriting skills with sound judgment and decision-making ability
Experience underwriting diverse middle-market or upper middle-market risks
Comfortable operating with meaningful authority and minimal oversight
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills
Level & Title Flexibility The hiring team is open to candidates at the
Senior Underwriter through AVP level , depending on experience. Title and authority will be aligned accordingly.
