
Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Civil Engineering Technician
to support water, wastewater, and utility infrastructure projects within our Governments & Water Utilities group. This role focuses on developing site drainage, grading, and utility plans using
Autodesk Civil 3D , with some exposure to
Bentley MicroStation . The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in plan and profile development, pipe and pressure networks, and grading, and works collaboratively with engineering and design teams to deliver high-quality project documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and modify civil design deliverables including
site grading, drainage, and utility plans
Create and maintain
plan & profile drawings , alignments, surfaces, and pipe/pressure networks using
Autodesk Civil 3D
Support engineering teams by preparing technical drawings, calculations, material quantities, and estimates
Ensure deliverables comply with applicable codes, standards, company policies, and quality requirements
Review design inputs and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure consistency and constructability
Apply company quality procedures and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
Provide technical guidance and review work produced by other technicians as needed
Assist with scheduling, task coordination, and occasional field support
Stay current on industry tools, technologies, and best practices related to water and utility infrastructure
Required Qualifications & Skills
Advanced experience with Autodesk Civil 3D , including:
Pipe and pressure networks
Proposed grading surfaces
Plan and profile development
Strong working knowledge of
alignments, grading, and utility design
Proficiency with
AutoCAD
and
Bluebeam
Familiarity with engineering standards, document control, and quality procedures
Understanding of basic engineering design principles and construction practices
Ability to interpret engineering design documents and technical deliverables
Minimum of 5 years of related civil design experience , preferably in water, wastewater, or utility projects
