TITLE: Worship Leader
REPORTING: Worship Director
STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Leads worship services by guiding vocalists and musicians to produce well-prepared worship experiences in alignment with Crossroads’ service programming vision.
Character Has a clear call of God to lead the people of their community to Jesus Christ. Demonstrates the qualities of a follower of Jesus Christ, with a passion to love God and love others. Shows a strong commitment to living out Crossroad’s values and beliefs in everyday life. Possesses characteristics that include humility, teachability, organization, teamwork, discernment, wisdom, and time management. Must work well with others.
Responsibilities
Lead the Worship Experience: Shape an environment where people genuinely connect with God. Ensure music and moments are understandable, welcoming, and accessible to those curious, doubting, and committed. Model authentic worship as opposed to performing songs. Align the tone of worship with Crossroads’ mission and message. Lead others to engage with God personally through music, reflection, and prayer. Execute the service planning team’s vision to create a meaningful experience for attendees.
Participate in Special Events: Help organize and execute special events as directed.
Participate on Teams: We are one church. Passionately participate on both campus level and church-wide teams as needed to carry out the mission and vision of the church.
Objective Working in a dual role as Worship Leader/ Band Leader or working alongside the Band Leader, support the successful execution of rehearsal, services, and events according to the vision of the Central Service Programming Team
Duties
Provide spiritual leadership for the worship team for scheduled rehearsals, services, and events.
Run rehearsals either with the Band Leader or in a dual Worship Leader/ Band Leader role.
Lead worship services and other Crossroads events.
Receive the service plan and execute the program plan with the team.
Know the plan for call to worship, including who delivers, script content, and timing.
Communicate an understanding of service flow and transitions.
Provide input to the Worship Director for song keys and arrangements.
Cultivate a culture of Christ-centered joy, servanthood, and partnership among the worship team members.

Creates Accessible Environments: Fosters a distraction-free atmosphere where both first-time guests and regulars feel welcome to encounter God without "insider" barriers.
Prioritizes Engagement: Models authentic worship that invites participation, prioritizing congregational engagement over musical performance.
Operational Excellence: Executes efficient rehearsals and seamless services with high preparation standards that honor the team's time.
Seamless Transitions: Leads with clarity to eliminate awkward pauses, ensuring musical and verbal transitions keep the focus on the message.
Healthy Team Culture: Builds a drama-free environment of joy and servanthood where volunteer musicians and staff feel valued and equipped.
Servant-hearted Stewardship: Welcomes the opportunity to provide input during prep, but prioritizes the integrity of the finalized Service Programming vision and Planning Center direction with a humble spirit once the plan is set.
Qualifications
Experience: Demonstrated ability to work well with people, lead teams and individuals, manage multiple priorities, navigate technology tools, work with musicians or work well alongside a Band Leader, and understand the Crossroads adult discipleship process.
Requirements: Affirmation of Crossroad’s mission, vision, values, and beliefs.
Work Schedule Hours vary by campus and event, with schedules determined by mutual agreement. The typical weekly commitment is four to nine hours, which includes rehearsals, services, and connections or meetings with the Worship Director. Compensation is based on the expected time commitment at each campus.
