River Glen Presbyterian Church is seeking a gifted and collaborative Director of Music to lead our music ministries and support meaningful, Christ-centered worship. This role includes worship planning, piano accompaniment, directing the adult choir, and leading our worship team. Our mission is “Experiencing God’s Love and Making Jesus Known.” Responsibilities
Plan worship music weekly in collaboration with the Pastor. Provide piano accompaniment and musical leadership for Sunday worship and special services (e.g., Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Good Friday). Direct the adult choir (Sept–May) and lead weekly Worship Team rehearsals. Recruit, mentor, and support vocalists and instrumentalists. Oversee ProPresenter worship slides and coordinate with the AV Coordinator. Support volunteer leaders for Children’s Choir and Handbell Choir. Manage the music budget, music library, and care of instruments. Arrange substitute musicians and provide music for weddings/funerals when available. Participate in staff meetings and Worship, Music & Arts team meetings. Qualifications
Mature Christian faith and appreciation for Presbyterian/Reformed worship. Skilled pianist and vocalist with experience directing ensembles. Knowledge of liturgy and worship leadership. Strong communication and organizational skills. Able to pass required background checks. Core Strengths
