The West Section Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Inventory and Purchasing Team is a performance-driven group dedicated to building the skills, confidence, and expertise in purchasing and material support for Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) West Section O&M teams. In this role, you will purchase and provide supply support to achieve strategic and real-time objectives for one of the region’s most complex wastewater treatment systems. Role Requirements

Job Duties

Purchase goods, commodities and services for an industrial environment. Obtain price quotes, research vendor sources, select vendors, conduct price comparisons to identify savings. Coordinate with central purchasing office. Prepare requests for purchasing authorization, limited procurement requisitions for minority/women business enterprises. Prepare change order requests. Assist with bid specifications. Receive, analyze and order critical and non-standard requests. Process standard non-inventory items. Update current pricing information. Expedite operational orders/overdue/back orders. Resolve accounts payable invoicing discrepancies and review billings for accuracy. Manage inventory warehousing disbursements, stock levels, disbursements, cycle counts, physical inventories, and warehouse receiving. Maintain adequate supplies to meet user needs. Maintain computerized internal purchasing/inventory records. Input and research inventory and direct purchases, disbursements, and inventory history. Update master files. Recommend strategies for surplus, sale and salvage of obsolete inventory items. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications You Bring: Advanced knowledge and skill in purchasing goods, commodities, and services using WTD computer systems Advanced knowledge and skill in inventory management and warehouse operation Knowledge and skill in heavy duty and industrial parts Knowledge and skill in solving discrepancies with central purchasing agencies Knowledge and skill employing computerized systems to manage inventory Strong customer service skills with comprehensive follow-up when required

Forklift certification is a plus.

Supplemental Information Working Location: West Point Treatment Plant, 1400 Discovery Park Blvd, Seattle, WA 98199 Work Schedule: Full-time, 40-hour work week. Overtime eligible. Hybrid schedule may be arranged after probation with management approval. Union Representation: SEIU 925 (Wastewater Treatment Division) Physical Requirement: Field work at a wastewater plant; ability to lift up to 60 pounds and use ladders Workplace Exposure: Industrial wastewater environment with potential exposure to chemicals and high noise levels
