ESC has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Insights & Research Specialist to support our premier client’s Book Publishing Team by delivering timely, data-driven insights that inform marketing, sales, and product strategies. This role manages a high-volume research request pipeline, synthesizing third-party syndicated research with Amazon first-party data to create compelling, actionable marketing materials. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and an exceptional storyteller with data—comfortable working in a fast-paced, request-driven environment while partnering closely with Marketing, Sales, and Product stakeholders. The position works

onsite in Seattle, WA and starts as an 11-month contract opportunity. Key Responsibilities Research Operations & Request Management Manage a high-volume, ticket-based research request queue, supporting ad hoc data requests and proactively developing pre-built research materials Prioritize incoming requests to meet tight deadlines and stakeholder expectations Maintain organized documentation and repeatable processes for research delivery Data & Insights Development Leverage syndicated audience and media research tools (e.g., comScore, Nielsen, GfK, eMarketer, Forrester, Simmons, Kantar) to analyze customer, category, and media trends Synthesize third-party research with Amazon first-party data to generate holistic insights Design and maintain audience, retail category, and purchase-behavior insights to support Vertical Marketing, Product Marketing, and B2B Marketing initiatives Storytelling & Deliverables Create polished PowerPoint presentations and Word documents for sales enablement and marketing use Translate complex datasets into clear, compelling narratives that drive business decisions Collaborate with broader Marketing team members to ensure insights align with campaign and go-to-market strategies Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (or relevant coursework) in media, marketing, marketing research, economics, sociology, statistics, computer science, math, engineering, or another quantitative field 2+ years of experience in media research, marketing, or marketing analytics Domain knowledge of online advertising and/or media ecosystems Advanced proficiency in Excel (analysis, data manipulation, reporting) Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint (executive-ready storytelling) Strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to tell clear, persuasive stories with data Preferred Qualifications Experience managing a reactive, ticket-based or request-driven workflow Experience partnering with sales or account executives Familiarity with syndicated research providers (comScore, Nielsen, GfK, eMarketer, Forrester, Simmons, Kantar, etc.) Experience using Salesforce and/or ClearSlide Comfort with basic statistical concepts and analytical methodologies
