The Marketing and Communications Manager is a hands-on, creative member of the Development team responsible for executing Freedom School Partners' marketing, communications, and storytelling efforts. This role focuses on day-to-day content creation, brand consistency, digital communications, and marketing support for development and program initiatives. Working collaboratively with the Development, Program, and leadership teams, the Marketing and Communications Manager implements established marketing strategies, supports fundraising communications, manages digital platforms, and ensures clear, compelling messaging that advances FSP's mission. Key Responsibilities
Marketing
Manage and implement FSP's marketing plans, serving as the primary content gatherer, creator and storyteller across digital, print, and social channels. Serve as brand ambassador, maintaining FSP's voice and brand standards internally and externally. Coordinate the design, production and regular updating of marketing collateral such as annual and impact reports, presentations, templates and program materials. Collaborate with program staff to assess and support marketing needs related to recruitment and program delivery. Maintain and update content on the FSP website, working within established templates and platforms. Regularly track and report performance metrics for social media, and digital campaigns. Manage routine marketing-related vendor relationships (e.g., printers, designers, photographers) and coordinate deliverables. Track marketing expenses and support team budget monitoring. Communications
Develop and manage an organizational communications calendar to ensure timely and cohesive messaging for various audiences. Create, edit, and proofread internal and external communications such as newsletters, donor & media collateral, maintaining brand voice and accuracy. Partner with Chief Development Officer and Philanthropy Manager on written donor communications, direct mail and digital fundraising campaigns ensuring message alignment. Draft press materials and support media outreach in coordination with Chief Development Officer. Develop talking points and craft messaging for FSP leaders and Board of Directors speaking engagements. Additional Responsibilities
Coordinate content creation, production and communications for annual fundraising event. Partner with program staff on communication and visual needs, coordination of vendors and day of support for annual enrichment events. Supervise and support seasonal marketing & communications intern. Qualifications & Core Competencies
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience. 3-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related nonprofit or mission-driven environment. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail. Working knowledge of social media platforms and basic digital marketing tools. Demonstrated design skills with experience creating basic graphics and layouts using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and cloud-based collaboration platforms. Familiarity with website content management systems and email marketing platforms. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative environment. Professional demeanor, reliability, and strong organizational skills. Adaptable, proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and contribute beyond core tasks. Compensation & Benefits

We use a transparent, role-based compensation structure that reflects the responsibilities of the role, the experience required, and internal equity across the organization.
The starting salary for this role is $58,500.
