Position Summary The Director of Development serves as the operational and strategic lead for all fundraising initiatives. Responsible for managing the donor pipeline, annual fund growth, fundraising events and physician giving program, this role ensures the effective execution of all development activities and drives donor cultivation across giving levels.
Key Responsibilities
Lead annual fund strategy and mid-level donor cultivation.
Build and manage a portfolio of mid-level and major donors, with measurable goals for cultivation and solicitation.
Serve as strategic lead for all fundraising-driven events, including signature galas, capital campaign gatherings and donor cultivation events.
Oversee event purpose, donor/sponsor targeting, revenue projections and ROI.
Lead VIP engagement and stewardship opportunities.
Oversee the physician giving program, including strategy, case messaging and donor pipeline development.
Manage the donor pipeline and segmentation process, collaborating closely with the Community Outreach Assistant for reporting and analysis.
Manage a portfolio of 40–60 donors, including major donors and high-potential mid-level prospects, with responsibility for advancing each through moves management toward solicitation.
Serve as operational lead, in partnership with the VP, for cultivating, soliciting and closing planned/legacy gifts, ensuring prospects move through personalized engagement strategies and solicitation plans.
Serve as liaison to communications team for content creation and event communications.
Supervise daily operations of the Foundation, including workflow coordination, team accountability and weekly Foundation huddles.
Lead planned giving strategy in partnership with the VP, ensuring integrated donor conversations and stewardship.
Support capital campaign execution, donor solicitations and fulfillment planning.
Partner with the VP to identify, research, and secure institutional grant opportunities with external contractors.

CRM accuracy and donor data integrity
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Desire to excel in the development sector
At least 3 years progressive responsibility in a development or marketing field with a proven record of success in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding support from individuals, foundations and corporations.
Skilled at database, analysis and development program evaluation.
Demonstration of leadership in building development systems and structures to support significant growth.
Clear, concise and persuasive verbal and written communications skills
Highly motivated and organized self-governing worker who is able to manage priorities independently.
Excellent computer skills and proficiency in donor relations database management
Proven ability to motivate and work with board members, staff, donors and volunteers to meet or exceed annual fundraising goals.
Understands the confidential nature of fundraising efforts and donor information and uphold those confidences.
