The Manager of Strategy & Business Development will be part of the Corporate Strategy team defining and driving the most important strategic priorities for Ralph Lauren. The individual will be responsible for analyzing business opportunities and supporting corporate projects that drive the global growth strategies and business initiatives of Ralph Lauren. Key projects may include strategic opportunity analysis, channel and category growth, brand and label portfolio assessment, international growth vectors, current business performance evaluation, peer/industry analysis and benchmarking, and licensing and acquisition management. The Manager is expected to work collaboratively across the strategy team and cross‑functionally, interacting with business and functional group leads and their teams, and to effectively communicate the results of his/her/their findings in an effective, discernible manner.
BUSINESS ANALYSIS
Track market size, market growth, and market share metrics relevant to Ralph Lauren
Establish processes and metrics to evaluate business performance and stated objectives
Gather, analyze, and report data across divisions, brands, regions, or product categories
Coordinate and implement new business opportunity scenario modeling and due diligence with business divisions and functional groups
Support acquisition and licensing related activities (i.e. research, negotiation, legal documentation, implementation planning)
STRATEGIC PROJECTS
Support strategic framing of various projects and initiatives required to accomplish a 3‑year plan
Analyze the performance of existing and new competitors or markets
Perform industry and trend research and analysis
Support Investor Relations activities and initiatives
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Coordinate the efforts of cross‑functional working teams
Liaise with internal partners as well as outside consultants and service providers
Support projects by creating detailed financial models and analysis
Provide updates to senior management and other business partners
Salary range: $71,500 - $130,000 annually.
Bachelor’s degree required
3-5 years + post‑undergraduate experience
Relevant work experience in strategy consulting, M&A advisory, or Corporate Business Development
Relevant work experience at a Consumer Products, Retail, or Luxury company
Superior executive presence, outstanding communication, and formal presentation skills
Comfortable with ambiguity, adaptable to change
Excellent analytical skills; Able to synthesize data into insightful information
Attention to detail; Sense of urgency and accuracy
Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Experience driving projects through to completion
Ability to own and manage multiple projects and meet deliverable deadlines; strong time management skills
