Real Estate Legal Assistant / Paralegal
to support a sophisticated commercial real estate practice. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative legal team and play a key role in complex real estate transactions from contract through closing. Position Overview
The Real Estate Legal Assistant / Paralegal will provide comprehensive support to attorneys in a fast-paced commercial real estate practice. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, highly organized, and comfortable managing multiple transactions and priorities while maintaining exceptional accuracy and professionalism. Key Responsibilities
Assist attorneys with all phases of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, leasing, development, and redevelopment. Title and Survey Review
Order, review, and analyze title commitments, surveys, and related exception documents. Identify and help resolve title and survey issues in coordination with attorneys, title companies, and surveyors. Document Drafting and Review
Draft, revise, and organize a wide range of real estate documents, including: Purchase and sale agreements Easements and REAs Covenants, conditions, and restrictions (CC&Rs) Declarations and closing checklists LLC/LLP agreements Closing documents (deeds, affidavits, FIRPTAs, resolutions, assignments, etc.) Leases, amendments, SNDAs, estoppels, and related correspondence Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with legal and client requirements. Due Diligence and Closing Coordination
Manage due diligence processes, including collecting, organizing, and analyzing property documentation. Coordinate real estate closings with attorneys, clients, lenders, and title companies. Support post-closing documentation and follow-up. Client and Third-Party Communication
Communicate with clients, brokers, lenders, and vendors to gather information and provide updates. Administrative and Practice Support
Maintain organized files, databases, and transaction tracking. Assist with document formatting, drafting, and use of firm-provided legal technology and AI tools. Qualifications
Minimum of
5 years of experience
supporting commercial real estate transactions in a law firm or in-house legal environment. Strong familiarity with title and survey review, lease abstraction, easements, and closing documentation. Understanding of commercial real estate workflows, including leasing, financing, and development (experience with retail centers, REAs, or anchor tenants is a plus). Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with legal or real estate software tools is preferred. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
