Responsibilities

The Coordinator is a full-time staff member and will operate within a collaborative team approach. The Coordinator will serve as a member of the advising team providing support, guidance, and direction for the four governing councils (Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, Panhellenic Association) and fraternity and sorority chapters. Play a key leadership role in the development of building community and belonging that directly contributes to retention and academic success of students within the fraternity and sorority community. Directly advising one or two of our governing councils through program development, assessment, comprehensive education and training programs, leadership development for community/chapter officers, and organizational development for chapters. Provide key departmental leadership and support in the areas of academics and community outreach. The fraternity and sorority community at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln consists of 50+ organizations with a membership of more than 4,300 students, including 30 chapter housing facilities with more than 1,600 residents. Candidates must be able to interact well with staff and student population in a professional and productive manner. Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications

Two years of experience or master’s degree in higher education administration. Demonstrated experience working with Greek-letter organizations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated commitment to building community. Demonstrated experience working with Greek-letter organizations. Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and alumni. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with campus departments. Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree and one year of experience. Undergraduate or graduate membership of a Greek-letter organization. Previous experience working with inter/national fraternal organizations. Previous experience developing and implementing comprehensive communication and outreach plans. Working knowledge of student development and leadership education theory. Demonstrated experience working with a fraternity and sorority community (i.e., Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council and Panhellenic Association).
