Responsibilities

As a Peer Recovery Specialist II, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing services for individuals in crisis due to mental health, substance use, or developmental disabilities. You will: Coordinate critical support using the Marcus Alert system between 911 and 988 crisis centers to ensure effective behavioral health responses. Identify symptoms of mental illness and provide essential peer support and advocacy. Facilitate one-on-one and group sessions, guide goal-setting and recovery planning, and empower individuals with tools like the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP). Help clients build social skills, promote employment opportunities, and teach problem-solving techniques while sharing your own recovery journey to inspire hope. You will be expected to maintain excellent communication, a deep knowledge of recovery processes, and a commitment to fostering a supportive, trusting environment for those served. Qualifications

Registered Peer Recovery Specialist (RPRS) with the VA Board of Counseling, including completion of the DBHDS 72-hour Peer Recovery Specialist Training At least one year of Peer Recovery Specialist experience Strong oral and written communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other essential software for documentation and case management Requirements

Ability to establish supportive and trusting relationships with individuals facing mental health challenges Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities Understanding of recovery processes to guide individuals toward wellness and autonomy Must pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test, and employment reference checks Job posted by ApplicantPro
