This role will operate as a student journalist to identify, capture, and produce compelling stories and social media content that highlight community impact, student success, and research excellence. The Student Marketing and Storytelling Assistant will collaborate closely with CMCCHHP’s media and communication director to strengthen the college’s brand, reach, and engagement through social media posts, website features, and digital newsletters. The Student Marketing and Storytelling Assistant position offers valuable, hands-on experience promoting CMCCHHP’s quality academic programs, research, and initiatives to a local, regional, and national audience. The ideal candidate should possess strong writing and editing skills. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in expanding their resumes in content development, writing, communications/media, and digital marketing. Key Responsibilities

Story discovery and pitching: Proactively identify compelling stories across the college related to student success, community impact, research excellence, and academic innovation. Interview and content gathering: Schedule and conduct interviews with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners to gather factual and engaging content. Content writing and editing: Execute clear, audience-focused content for web features, social media captions, promotional materials, and CMCCHHP’s IMPACT digital newsletter. Collaborate on multimedia content support: Work with CMCCHHP’s Student Marketing Assistant to capture basic photos and short-form video. Qualifications

Enrolled as a full-time student at CCU. Provide three pieces of recent written work (articles, publications, social media captions, etc.). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong writing and editing skills. Knowledge of AP style preferred. Experience creating engaging written and digital content including, but not limited to: social media posts, videos, blog posts, articles. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong time management and scheduling skills. Ability to meet deadlines and work in a high-paced environment individually or as part of a team. Experience creating graphics in programs such as Canva.
