In the role of Telecommunications/Security Designer, we will count on you to contribute to project design and client outcomes.

Responsibilities

Have strong general engineering knowledge of either the telecommunications (Horizontal/Backbone cabling and pathways) or electronic security systems (communications, electronic controls, CCTV, access control, UPS, etc.) and operational coordination with commercial hardware.

Meet with project clients to evaluate, define and review customer needs/objectives and ensure those requirements are met within the project design.

Define and develop complete project-related construction documents to include all design documents (SD, DD, CD) to show design intent, project specifications and assist with system-related activities within all construction administration (CA) activities.

Coordinate with integrated, multidisciplinary project teams to develop functional requirements, system designs, and other project-related requirements.

Develop alternative system design concepts, feasibility and trade-off studies, and value-added engineering when required for projects.

Maintain knowledge of current industry product offerings and research new emerging technologies.

Provide Construction Administration Services such as reviewing submittals and responding to contractor questions.

Assist in problem resolution and technical troubleshooting when field support is needed.

Due To Client Contract Requirements, US-born Citizenship Is Required.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate or technical school degree, or combination of education and relevant experience.

5 years of related work experience.

Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks independently, on schedule, and under budget.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).

Ability to work in a high-velocity environment managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and workmanship quality.

Strong computer skills and proficiency to work in Bluebeam, Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite; must be able to learn new applications quickly.

Knowledge of engineering drawing and design standards and practices.

Strong desire for continuous learning and professional education.

Required Qualifications

Technical degree or a combination of education and relevant experience.

A minimum of 5 years digital design (BIM element authoring) and 3 years digital delivery (model management) experience.

Comprehensive understanding of all discipline relations and operations of building systems.

Advanced skillset of 3D design software and document management infrastructure.

Advanced skillset of 3D coordination tools.

Advanced skillset of Microsoft Office products and communication tools.

Familiar with industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specifications.

Familiar with basic automation and programming applications for efficiencies.

Familiar with 3D design software add-ins and supporting applications.

Familiar with content creation and management concepts.

Superior client service, communication, and presentation skills are essential.

Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively serve as a first line of technical support.

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) Maryland: $46,480- $66,400
