ICT Security Designer , HDR counts on you to contribute to these efforts and to help lead innovation and engineer impact. Responsibilities
General engineering knowledge of either the telecommunication (Horizontal/Backbone cabling) or electronic security systems (access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, etc.) and operational coordination with commercial hardware. Design cabling pathways such as conduits or cable tray systems and proper bonding systems. Meet with project clients to evaluate, define and review customer needs/objectives and ensure those requirements are met within the project design. Define and develop complete project-related construction documents to include all design documents (SD, DD, CD) to show design intent, project specifications and assist with system-related activities within all construction administration (CA) activities. Coordinate with integrated, multidisciplinary project teams to develop functional requirements, system designs and other project-related requirements. Edit telecommunications or security specifications specific to the project. Maintain knowledge of current industry product offerings and research new emerging technologies. Assist in problem resolution and technical troubleshooting when field support is needed. Perform other duties as needed. Preferred Qualifications
Associate or technical school degree, or combination of education and relevant experience Entry level to five years of related work experience 2–10 years of related work experience “Can-Do” mindset and problem-solving attitude Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks independently, on schedule and under budget Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) Ability to work in a high-velocity environment managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and workmanship quality Strong computer skills and proficiency with Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work in Revit, AutoCAD is a bonus. Must be able to learn new applications quickly Knowledge of engineering drawings and design standards and practices Strong desire for continuous learning and professional education Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information Preference given to local candidates Required Qualifications
