Role Summary
The district sales manager (DSM) focuses on leading, developing and creating a motivating environment for the sales staff, in order to attain desired sales outcomes. In addition, the DSM will be responsible for direct creation and capture of customer value. With up to 50% field time, the function demands cultivation of close customer relationships and in-depth market knowledge and market dynamics. Responsibilities
Attain and exceed sales objectives by leading and directing the sales team while managing the financial budget for the district. Cultivate customer relationship in order to increase our customer value proposition. Develop talent through targeted recruitment, continuous coaching and development and active retention. Build and maintain a high-level performance climate allowing people and ideas to excel, while maintaining high levels of accountability. Ensure internal and external process discipline to track sales, product demand and market dynamics, as well as disciplined account planning and account team execution through territory and account plans. Aid and input into the development of marketing strategies. Responsible for the analysis and evaluation of reporting metrics and business reports to ensure the placement and utilization of resources for maximum business results. Development of a business plan for utilization of all the provided resources to accomplish the planned objectives of the District. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree. 6+ years extensive knowledge of animal health, swine, and strategic account management; 8+ years proven record of sales and/or people management. Passion for agricultural and the swine industry. Familiarity and/or experience in marketing processes. Excellent communication (written and oral) and analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively work in a team environment. Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship; no visa status support planned. Education
Bachelor’s degree. Additional Requirements
Travel: Up to 75% overnight travel as needed to effectively support the district. Location: District encompasses a broad geographic area from the Midwest to the Southeast United States; boundaries subject to change based on business needs.
