The Territory Manager – Pump Division is responsible for driving rental and sales revenue growth within a defined geographic territory by promoting Opifex-Synergy Pump rental solutions. This role focuses on delivering fluid handling expertise, building customer relationships, and developing market opportunities in sectors such as construction, environmental remediation, dry dock maintenance, and industrial site dewatering.
Essential Functions
Prospect and develop new customer relationships for pump rentals and fluid handling solutions
Identify and pursue opportunities in construction, industrial, and municipal applications
Maintain and grow existing customer accounts by providing consistent face-to-face support and expert consultation
Work collaboratively with operations and service teams to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery and support
Serve as a technical resource for clients, explaining pump configurations, applications, and operating requirements
Generate sales leads for other divisions or product lines as applicable
Maintain detailed records of customer activity and pipeline progress in CRM
Provide 24/7 support for emergency service as needed
Required Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience specifically in pump rentals, pump sales, or pump system applications
Strong track record of consistent sales performance and customer relationship management
Solid understanding of dewatering and fluid transfer equipment, including diesel pumps, suction/discharge sizing, and troubleshooting basics
Valid Driver’s License and acceptable motor vehicle record
4-year bachelor’s degree preferred
Work experience in water management or related industrial environments
Military service will be considered in lieu of education/certification experience as applicable.

Dynamic work environment that includes construction sites, equipment yards, repair shops, and customer offices.
Significant time spent outdoors in active field settings, often around heavy machinery and equipment in operation.
Regular exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and direct sunlight.
Site visits may involve walking on dusty, muddy, or uneven terrain and navigating areas with moving vehicles and machinery.
Noise levels can be high in specific locations, especially near active job sites or equipment zones.
Required to wear appropriate PPE such as steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and high-visibility clothing when on-site.
Office-based work is also part of the role, including administrative duties, sales planning, and customer communications.
Must be comfortable transitioning between professional office settings and rugged outdoor or industrial environments.
Success in the role depends on adaptability, strong communication, and situational awareness across diverse work conditions.
Travel Required
Daily local travel as needed within territory.
Physical Demands
Requires a moderate to high level of physical activity and mobility to support both office duties and frequent fieldwork.
Regular bending, squatting, crouching, and reaching to inspect equipment, access materials, or assist with loading/unloading tasks.
May involve lifting and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds or more, including small equipment, sales materials, or product samples.
Walking for extended periods over uneven, unpaved, or sloped terrain is common during job site and yard visits.
Frequent exposure to outdoor elements such as heat, cold, rain, and wind during field appointments and demonstrations.
Occasionally responsible for loading equipment into a pickup truck and hitching, towing, or unhitching trailers or towable machinery.
Requires physical strength, coordination, and familiarity with safe handling and towing practices.
Extended periods of driving, often across varied geographic areas, requiring alertness, stamina, and good vision.
Manual dexterity, visual acuity, and proper lifting techniques are essential for safe and effective job performance.
