Job Description The Director of Public Relations is responsible for shaping, protecting, and elevating the hotel’s public image through strategic storytelling, media relations, brand partnerships, and reputation management. This role serves as the primary brand voice externally, ensuring consistent messaging that aligns with the hotel’s positioning, values, and commercial objectives.

The ideal candidate is a proactive relationship-builder, skilled storyteller, and trusted brand steward with a strong understanding of luxury hospitality, destination marketing, and experiential branding.

Key Responsibilities Brand & Communications Strategy

Develop and execute an integrated PR and communications strategy that supports brand awareness, revenue goals, and market positioning

Ensure all external messaging reflects the hotel’s voice, brand standards, and guest experience

Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Executive Leadership to align messaging and initiatives

Media Relations

Serve as the primary media contact for local, national, and international press

Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, influencers, and tastemakers

Pitch proactive story ideas tied to hotel offerings, culinary concepts, events, renovations, leadership, and destination relevance

Coordinate media visits, familiarization trips, interviews, and photo shoots

Content & Storytelling

Oversee creation of press releases, media kits, fact sheets, brand narratives, and executive bios

Guide storytelling across earned, owned, and shared channels in collaboration with Marketing and Digital teams

Identify seasonal, cultural, and experiential opportunities to create newsworthy moments

Influencer & Partnership Strategy

Develop and manage influencer collaborations aligned with brand values and target audiences

Identify and execute strategic partnerships with luxury brands, cultural institutions, and community organizations

Ensure all partnerships drive authentic brand exposure and measurable impact

Reputation & Crisis Management

Monitor brand sentiment across media and digital platforms

Lead crisis communications planning and response in collaboration with Executive Leadership

Act as a calm, strategic communicator during sensitive or high-visibility situations

Community & Destination Engagement

Serve as an ambassador for the hotel within the local community and hospitality ecosystem

Build relationships with tourism boards, chambers of commerce, cultural organizations, and key stakeholders

Support destination storytelling and positioning initiatives

Measurement & Reporting

Track PR performance metrics including media impressions, share of voice, sentiment, and ROI

Provide regular reporting and insights to leadership

Adjust strategies based on results and market trends

Compensation Range

74 - 105.5K annually base, Incentive and benefits

Qualifications

Sales experience in hospitality

Experience with Sales reporting

Strong Luxury hospitality experience (5+ years)

Branding and experiential marketing
