Role Summary
Associate Director- Medical Science Liaison (MSL) - Cardiometabolic Health, St. Louis, MO. The role focuses on scientific exchange, strategic engagement with healthcare professionals, and collaboration with Lilly medical and cross-functional teams to inform research and commercialization efforts. Requires field-based engagement, broad domain knowledge, and the ability to operate with high independence and strategic urgency. Responsibilities
Scientific knowledge: maintain expert-level technical knowledge in the therapeutic area; provide unbiased, accurate, up-to-date information to customers. Customer engagement: conduct predominantly customer-facing activities; deliver positive experiences and connect SEs/CEs with Lilly resources; facilitate collaborative research and external opportunities. Territory ownership: develop and execute a strategic territory plan; prioritize core MSL activities; use territory analytics for customer identification and routing. Strategic vision and leadership: synthesize and communicate actionable insights to internal teams; collaborate across functions; adapt to evolving business needs; uphold compliance and team behaviors. Qualifications
Advanced degree in health sciences (e.g., PharmD, MD, PhD) with 2–3 years of clinical/therapeutic experience, OR Masters or bachelor\'s degree in health sciences (e.g., BSN, RPh, PA, NP) with 5+ years clinical, research, or industry experience in relevant therapeutic area. Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; no visa sponsorship provided. Valid U.S. driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Skills
Intellectual curiosity and learning agility to absorb complex scientific content and communicate clearly. Excellent verbal and written communication; strong presentation and literature identification skills. Self-directed, able to manage multiple priorities; effective in field-based environments. Strong strategic and critical thinking; ability to analyze information and assess relevance to future states. High emotional intelligence; strong networking and relationship-building capabilities. Proficiency with field-based electronic or communication tools. Resilience in managing complex challenges and collaborative mindset across functions. Additional Requirements
Obesity, diabetes, and/or cardiovascular clinical/research experience preferred. Geographic preference for residing within the area or within 30 minutes of a major airport; St. Louis area preferred. Ability to travel up to 80% and work 4–6 weekends per year.
