Role Summary

Associate Director - Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Cardiometabolic Health, covering the Omaha - Kansas City area. Leads field-based scientific engagement, builds trusted relationships with Scientific Experts and Clinical Experts, and partners with Lilly medical and cross-functional teams to inform research and medical strategy. Responsibilities

Scientific knowledge

– Maintain high-level expertise in the therapeutic area, engage in scientific exchange, and provide unbiased, accurate, up-to-date medical information to customers. Customer engagement

– Focus on customer-facing activities, deliver positive experiences, and connect SEs/CEs with additional resources and external opportunities as appropriate. Territory ownership

– Develop and execute a strategic territory plan, prioritize core MSL activities, and use territory analytics for customer identification and routing. Strategic vision and leadership

– Synthesize and communicate actionable insights to internal teams, collaborate across functions, adapt to evolving needs, and operate compliantly with sound judgment. Qualifications

Required:

Advanced degree in health sciences (e.g., PharmD, MD, PhD) with 2–3 years of relevant clinical or therapeutic experience, OR Masters/Bachelor’s degree in health sciences (e.g., BSN, RPh, PA, NP) with 5+ years of relevant experience. Required:

Authorized to work in the United States full-time (no work authorization sponsorship). Required:

Valid U.S. driver's license and acceptable driving record. Preferred:

Cardiometabolic (diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular) experience. Preferred:

Ability to travel up to 80% and work 4–6 weekends per year. Preferred:

Proximity to a transport hub (airport/train station). Preferred:

Intellectual curiosity, learning agility, self-direction, advanced presentation/computer skills, and strong communication abilities. Preferred:

Experience servicing customer needs for complex information and professional networking. Preferred:

Familiarity with health systems, academic communities, medical research, and medical education processes. Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication Advanced presentation and literature identification skills Strategic and critical thinking for information analysis and interpretation Proficiency with field-based electronic communication tools High emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal/networking abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a field-based environment Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Education

Advanced degree in health sciences (e.g., PharmD, MD, PhD) preferred; or Masters/Bachelor’s with relevant experience as an alternative. Additional Requirements

Travel up to 80% and occasional weekends as part of field-based role. Residence near a transport hub preferred to support travel expectations.
