Role Summary This is a remote-based, field-based leadership role serving as a national leader for regionally aligned Access & Reimbursement field teams. The Executive Director will co-create field execution and pull-through strategies based on the overarching business strategy and is accountable for delivering defined business impact. The role includes motivating regions to accelerate aligned objectives, managing direct reports, and fostering a culture-forward team mindset, while monitoring Patient Support sentiment and collaborating with field and headquarter-based associates.

Responsibilities

Attract, coach and retain a high-performing team of Regional Directors and Access & Reimbursement professionals.

Translate national strategy to regional levels to enable execution and pull-through, motivating regions to align on strategy and key business impact metrics.

Monitor field team operations and identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and effectiveness at regional and national levels.

Partner with the Customer Engagement Team to coordinate field activities, business plans, and customer resolutions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Managed Markets, Operations, Training, Legal, Compliance, etc.) to ensure a compliant approach to field success.

Understand and resolve questions related to practice and patient reimbursement with third-party payers.

Identify opportunities to enhance NPC capabilities to improve patient access to therapy.

Collaborate with NPS Analytics to design reports and tools to monitor and achieve pre-specified objectives and metrics.

Provide functional leadership to drive impact across the broader NPS Access & Reimbursement Teams and related portfolio areas.

Maintain understanding of NPC policies and ensure integrity and compliance with HIPAA and internal guidance; ensure teams adhere to NPC policies.

Identify and report adverse events via established Novartis systems.

Qualifications

Required:

Education: Bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred (majors in Sciences, Business, Pharmacy, Healthcare).

Required:

Minimum 10 years in reimbursement, contract strategy (if applicable), managed care, sales/marketing or related field; at least 5 years leading a regional/local team and collaborating across multiple stakeholders.

Required:

Experience with highly complex practices and/or health systems to establish access and acquisition pathways.

Required:

Strategic account management experience proactively addressing access hurdles affecting accounts and patient access.

Required:

Deep expertise integrating manufacturer-sponsored patient support programs.

Required:

General knowledge of reimbursement pathways (specialty pharmacy, buy-and-bill, retail).

Required:

Experience with specialty products through specialty pharmacy networks and buy-and-bill processes, including acquisition, billing and coding, claims processing, and reimbursement.

Required:

Strong understanding of commercial payers, Medicare plans and state Medicaid in the geographic region.

Required:

Proven track record building and motivating teams; successful execution of launch strategies and plans.

Required:

Ability to travel 60-80% across a broad geography; valid driver’s license.
