Your Role
As a Client Engagement Specialist, you will be part of the H&R Block Tax Transformation team, focusing on our international expat business. Your primary responsibility is to ensure an exceptional client experience through efficient remote service, client workflow management, and effective communication. You will communicate with clients via phone, email, and our software platform, while providing support to expat advisors as needed.
Daily Responsibilities
Act as the main point of contact for clients submitting inquiries through our expat software platform, website, phone, and email.
Respond to client inquiries within 48 business hours, ensuring timely communication.
Maintain detailed records of all client inquiries, documenting them in the expat software or other required systems.
Guide clients in setting up their accounts and virtual folders within the software platform.
Manage client workflow from initial inquiry to the final signature of service engagement, including document uploads and payment processing, while ensuring a positive client experience.
Conduct follow-ups after initial inquiries to maximize the conversion of prospects into paid clients.
Provide administrative support to expat tax advisors, including client communication, tax return printing, client record maintenance, and document processing for tax agencies.
Engage in continuous communication with other Client Engagement Specialists and Expat Tax Advisors across various locations.
This position requires in-office attendance 2-3 days a week in the Kansas City Metro Area, depending on seasonal needs.
What You Bring to the Team 1-2 years of customer service experience, particularly in digital platforms and phone communication.
Strong critical thinking and communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in managing multiple client communications simultaneously.
Ability to work independently with keen attention to detail and proficiency in the Microsoft product suite.
Excellent organizational skills to effectively convert inquiries into satisfied, paying clients.
Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and daily tasks as required.
Availability to work core business hours, Monday to Friday (8 am - 5 pm central time), with potential overtime on weekends and evenings.
Preferred Qualifications Fluency in multiple languages.
Experience in tax preparation.
