First Financial Bank has an immediate opening for a
Mortgage Loan Processor
at the Main Street Office located in El Dorado, Arkansas.
The primary responsibility of this position is the complete processing of the loan, and coordinating the closing with the loan officer, borrowers, title companies/attorneys and insurance providers.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school plus two years of additional education or training from college or technical school; two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior Mortgage Loan experience preferred. Good understanding of financial institution products and services.
COMPLEXITY:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, monthly payments, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Input information from the application into the mortgage loan software. Obtain quotes in order to prepare early disclosures in an efficient and timely manner according to compliance regulations. Order credit reports, appraisal request, title commitments, termite clearance letters and surveys as the process of the loan evolves. Coordinate the collection of required documents with loan officer, borrowers & any third parties. Process the loan file in accordance with investor, agency & FFB guidelines on secondary market loans. Process the loan file in accordance with FFB guidelines & coordinates the collection of required documents on in-house mortgage loans regarding Loan Operations & other FFB departments. Submit loans through appropriate AUS. Prepare the loan package for underwriting, and to clear any stipulations made as part of loan approval process. Assist closer as needed. Lobby traffic includes many necessary interruptions, and this position requires the ability to direct customers to the appropriate department in a polite and helpful manner. Process departmental telephone calls, emails, and answer general inquiries. Cross markets financial institution products and services as appropriate. Assist in post close functions per Investor/Agency requirements as well as any in-house final documentation to clear exceptions in a timely manner. Performs a variety of clerical duties requiring knowledge of departmental procedures.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Must process excellent organizational skills and be able to work under strict deadlines. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to handle multiple tasks and be a self-starter. Must be proficient in MS Office applications, typewriters, calculators, fax machines, and copy machines. Good telephone and people skills.
