
Job Description:
The Phlebotomist II - Float serves as a key patient-facing representative, responsible for drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while following established procedures. This role requires direct patient interaction, ensuring a safe, accurate, and professional experience while maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating leadership behaviors. The position may support multiple locations, including patient service centers and physician offices, based on business needs. Responsibilities:
Perform daily phlebotomy and specimen processing activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor. Maintain a safe, clean, and professional working environment. Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established practices and procedures. Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm correct specimen labeling. Maintain required records and documentation accurately. Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public. Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients. Travel between multiple sites as assigned and report on time to each location covered. Requirement/Must Have:
bility to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment. bility to work independently with minimal on-site supervision. Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call schedules, and overtime as required. Commitment to company policies, procedures, dress code, and safety standards. bility to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise sound judgment. Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and a clean driving record. Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations with minimal notice. bility to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment. Strong customer focus with clear and professional communication skills. Experience:
One to three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. Experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred. Customer service experience in a retail or service environment strongly preferred. Keyboarding and data entry experience. Skills:
Phlebotomy and specimen handling. Patient interaction and customer service. Documentation and data accuracy. Time management and adaptability. Qualification And Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred. Phlebotomy certification preferred and required in certain states.
