Compensation:

$60,000-$70,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications

Job Description:

The Alumni Relations Manager is a proactive, positive, and relationship-focused professional who thrives in oversight of a multitude of tasks and engagement programming, constituent relations and day-to-day operations. The incumbent partners with the Chief Advancement Officer, Development Office colleagues and other members of the school community in implementing stewardship functions and giving programs of Loyola Blakefield. This role requires travel up to 15% of the calendar year to identify, cultivate, and steward alumni locally, regionally, and nationally. The primary focus is to increase all forms of engagement (philanthropy, mentorship, event participation, etc.) among alumni and to ensure that our reach is extended well beyond the Baltimore region.

Duties and Responsibilities: The Alumni Relations Manager works to improve the school's systematic approach to alumni connections and engagement by implementing activities and programs around our Graduate at Graduation criteria: being open to personal and professional growth, intellectual curiosity, being religious and loving, dedicated to diversity, and working for a just world. Broadly, the Manager seeks to support the transition from a strategy focused largely on reconnecting with lost alumni to one focused on continuous, uninterrupted student/alumni engagement consistent with our Catholic, Jesuit values. Priorities for the immediate future include the following:

Support the Office of Development and Alumni Relations in the logistical and promotional responsibilities for all Loyola Blakefield Alumni Association activities including (but not limited to) Loyola Golf Open, Homecoming, Taste of Blakefield, athletic/co-curricular alumni team events, Kelley Medal Breakfast, professional networking events, service projects, reunions, spiritual retreats, and others. Organize, publicize, and execute other major alumni events such as Dons Down the Ocean, Loyola Reunions, specifically the Jubilarian 50th Reunion Weekend, Golden Dons Dinner, and other events to engage alumni and alumni families. Plan and implement the annual alumni relations calendar to include alumni communications and alumni events. This includes writing and managing the Alumni E-Newsletter and other means of outreach with alumni. Significantly expand the creation and management of alumni-related social media pertaining to athletic/co-curricular, cultural, professional, and social events. Proficiency with LinkedIn and other social media platforms is required. Extensively expand the number of active volunteers supporting our Class Captains program (in partnership with other members of the Development and Alumni Team) with ongoing recruitment in addition to relationship management and stewardship of existing volunteers. Regularly communicate with alumni and alumni classes regarding school updates, class notices/updates, and alumni news. Support our efforts to implement and execute a plan to engage alumni outside of Maryland with specific focus on high density and high opportunity communities Contribute travel and prospect recommendations for the President, Chief Advancement Officer, and others to engage alumni who may have leadership and major gift capacity. Perform other duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree. Two or more years of professional experience in external relations, marketing, fundraising, or sales. Superior client relationship management skills. Demonstration of tact, discretion, and sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information. Event management and project management skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with using, manipulating and maintaining database information, Raiser's Edge preferred. Experience working with LinkedIn and other social media platforms. Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic, deadline oriented. environment, working with multiple team members simultaneously. Positive, creative, solution-oriented temperament required. Strong desire to reflect our Catholic, Jesuit values in daily interactions with all constituents Candidate must pass a background check including fingerprinting.
