In the role of Associate Director of Cloud Solutions Engineering, you will spearhead our enterprise cloud strategy, focusing on the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud compliance, operational excellence, and cost efficiency within a multifaceted multi-cloud environment. This position will see you acting as a strategic advisor and operational leader, working closely with various teams including Application and Product teams, Cloud Engineering, FinOps, Finance, Legal, and Supply Management Services to ensure our cloud operations are secure, efficient, and scalable.
You will play a vital role in leading our transformation at the intersection of operations, technology, and AI innovation. By driving the evolution of our intelligent infrastructure, you will enhance system reliability, security, and compliance, enabling our business to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care.
This position also requires you to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI (GenAI) capabilities into our Infrastructure Operations, combining traditional IT management with next-generation, AI-driven automation and predictive analytics. You will be instrumental in advancing our digital transformation, improving operational reliability, and ensuring compliance with key healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and PHI.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of the overall cloud operations strategy and governance framework for our organization. Create and manage short, mid, and long-term roadmaps for Cloud Production Operations aligned with enterprise and digital transformation goals. Oversee operational planning, staffing, and budget management in multi-cloud environments (Azure, GCP, AWS). Collaborate with internal stakeholders and Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to ensure operational excellence, service continuity, and adherence to SLAs. Define and implement ITIL/ITSM frameworks for various management processes to promote continuous improvement. Encourage collaboration within our technology ecosystem to align cloud operations with business priorities and compliance standards. Enhance the Incident and Problem Management functions to minimize Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) and Mean Time to Resolve (MTTR). Implement automated tools and event correlation systems for proactive monitoring and operational readiness. Ensure 24/7 uptime of mission-critical systems by guiding operational teams and improving incident response capabilities. Lead MSP teams responsible for daily cloud operations and infrastructure support across Azure, GCP, and AWS. Partner with Engineering and DevOps teams to integrate CI/CD, automated deployment, and self-healing systems into the operations model. Maintain compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements in healthcare environments. Develop and execute strategies for cloud compliance, reporting, and cost optimization. Deliver metrics and dashboards to automate cloud financial management and operational reporting. Collaborate with FinOps and Finance to enhance chargeback, budgeting, and forecasting capabilities. Identify processes suitable for automation and implement solutions with platform engineering teams. Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing total cost of ownership. Maintain strong relationships with partners and service providers to identify operational performance and cost savings opportunities. Lead research and deployment of AI and GenAI technologies within Infrastructure Operations. Prototype AI-driven solutions to automate incident response and assist operations teams. Develop an AI adoption roadmap, integrating predictive analytics into the infrastructure ecosystem. Integrate AI/ML models into monitoring platforms to enable proactive decision-making. Identify operational gaps through trend analysis and create documentation to support these insights. Required Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in infrastructure operations or engineering, including 2+ years in leadership within AI/ML or GenAI R&D. Proven experience managing NOC or Command Center teams with a focus on mission-critical systems. Advanced understanding of public cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS) and hybrid infrastructures. Expertise in cloud observability and incident response practices. Hands-on experience utilizing automation and scripting tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Python, etc.). Proficiency in cloud cost management tools. Strong knowledge of ITIL/ITSM principles with practical application experience. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a lean, agile, fast-paced environment while pursuing long-term strategic goals. Willingness to support off-hours operations as needed. Preferred Qualifications
Deep understanding of cloud observability concepts and the ability to implement robust monitoring systems. Strong technical business acumen in managing hybrid cloud environments effectively. Experience working independently and making decisions based on priority and business initiatives. Passion for resource optimization and improving cloud efficiency. Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Expertise in various scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript. Demonstrated leadership abilities in fostering collaboration among technical and business teams. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, enabling influence across all organization levels. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Pay Range: $156,600 - $215,400 per year (eligible for a bonus incentive plan).
