Description

The Hotel Assistant Director of Finance supports the Hotel Director of Finance by managing daily accounting operations (AP/AR, payroll, revenue), ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, assisting with budgets/forecasts, and providing financial analysis for management, overseeing staff to ensure compliance with policies and accurate financial statements.

Responsibilities



Financial Operations:

Oversee daily activities like accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll processing, and revenue reporting. •

Reporting & Analysis:

Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance reports, providing insights to management. •

Internal Controls:

Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard hotel assets and ensure policy compliance. •

Team Supervision:

Directly supervise accounting staff, including Income Auditors and Staff Accountants, providing guidance and training. •

Audit Support:

Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring documentation and compliance. •

Budgeting:

Help develop annual budgets, monthly projections, and labor reviews.

Qualifications



Experience:

Several years in hotel accounting, general ledger, income audit, AP/AR. •

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience). •

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Excel, accounting software (e.g., M3, ProfitSword) •

Soft Skills:

Strong leadership, communication, attention to detail, problem-solving, and ability to work under pressure.
