Job Summary

Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine (XOCOM) is accepting applications for the position of Director for Continuous Quality Improvement and Accreditation. The director, in close partnership with the XOCOM Associate Dean for Education and Academic Affairs (ADEAA), will be responsible for documenting continuous quality improvement initiatives, developing processes for monitoring compliance with accreditation standards, and overseeing the preparation and timely submission of requirements of the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). This key position will report directly to the XOCOM ADEAA.

In February 2024, the Xavier University of Louisiana Board of Trustees and the Ochsner Health Board of Directors approved the partnership to develop the Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine (XOCOM). Becoming the fifth allopathic Historically Black College and University (HBCU) medical school in the country.

As the largest physician-led clinically integrated network in the Gulf South, the Ochsner Health Network operates 46 hospitals and treated more than 1.5 million patients in 2022.

Xavier and Ochsner have been working together since the early 1980s. Through their ongoing partnership, Ochsner Health and Xavier University of Louisiana have advanced healthcare equity through several programs, including a program for physician assistants that has already graduated 108 students. By creating this new medical school, XOCOM is taking a big step toward improving healthcare for all the communities they serve. Together, they will train doctors who care deeply about their patients and understand the importance of diversity and high-quality medicine. In addition, Ochsner has 33 wide-ranging, accredited residency and fellowship programs. Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five years of experience in CQI and/or institutional or programmatic accreditation.

Preferred Qualifications • Advanced degree of Master's or higher • Seven years of experience in CQI and LCME accreditation

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Description • Lead and manage all aspects of the medical school LCME (Liaison Committee on Medical Education) and HLC (Higher Learning Commission) accreditation processes including the preparation, submission, and management of accreditation documents. • Serve as the primary institutional contact for all relevant accreditors and regulatory authorities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Description • Lead and manage the self-study process by coordinating the collection of survey data and materials, synthesizing narrative responses, leading training sessions, and developing the survey visit schedule. • Develop and implement a comprehensive Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program to ensure accreditation compliance and enhance the quality of educational programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Description • Work closely with faculty, staff, and administrative leaders to ensure that all relevant processes and outcomes meet LCME accreditation requirements. • Compile, analyze, and synthesize data related to accreditation and quality improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Description • Collaborate with faculty, staff, students, administrators, and external stakeholders to ensure a shared understanding of accreditation standards and CQI principles. • Manage the institutional policy lifecycle process. • Regularly communicate progress on accreditation and CQI initiatives to stakeholders, including preparing reports and presentations.
