10-20% Position Summary
Wyatt Field Service Company is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to develop accurate, competitive estimates and proposals for industrial mechanical construction projects, including capital projects, maintenance, outages, and turnarounds. This role supports successful bids by analyzing drawings, specifications, labor, materials, and subcontractor pricing. Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed mechanical estimates for industrial projects, including piping, equipment setting, fabrication, and instrumentation Perform quantity take-offs using computerized and manual tools Review drawings, specifications, and RFPs to define scope and pricing Develop labor, material, equipment, and general conditions estimates Maintain and update cost databases, unit rates, and historical cost data Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings to assess constructability and site conditions Coordinate with procurement and vendors to obtain pricing and subcontractor quotes Assemble estimates for budgeting, bid submissions, and proposal schedules Support risk analysis, productivity assumptions, and cost variance reviews Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience 3-5 years of industrial mechanical estimating experience Experience with capital projects, outages, turnarounds, greenfield and brownfield work Strong knowledge of piping systems and codes (B31.1, B31.3) Experience estimating lump sum, fixed price, cost-plus, T&M, and unit price work Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, site plans, and general arrangement drawings Skills & Technical Requirements
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and estimating tools Experience with scheduling software (Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project) Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines Familiarity with cost control, WBS/CBS structures, and project cost accounting Pre-employment drug-screen and background check are required.
