Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking a Senior Mechanical Estimator in Austin Metro to lead cost analysis and bid preparation for large-scale commercial mechanical construction projects.
Impact
• Drive accurate project pricing for $5M+ mechanical construction projects
• Support business growth through competitive and profitable bid strategies
• Ensure project success through detailed scope analysis and risk assessment
• Maintain strong client relationships through reliable estimating and proposal delivery
Responsibilities
• Prepare detailed estimates for commercial HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems
• Analyze blueprints and specifications using Bluebeam and AutoCAD software
• Coordinate with project teams to develop comprehensive bid proposals
• Lead takeoff processes for ductwork, piping, and equipment installations
• Review subcontractor pricing and negotiate competitive rates
• Manage multiple concurrent estimates with strict deadline requirements
• Present estimates and proposals to clients and project stakeholders
• Support project managers during buyout and value engineering phases
Requirements Must-Haves
• 7+ years experience in mechanical construction estimating
• Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu and estimating software platforms
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and plumbing design
• Experience with design-build and GMP project delivery methods
• Proven track record estimating projects $2M+ in value
Nice-to-Haves
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management
• Experience with energy efficiency and sustainable building systems
• Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and 3D takeoffs
• Familiarity with Texas construction codes and permitting processes
