
Purchasing Agent
What we are looking for:
Aldridge is seeking an experienced and dedicated Purchasing Agent to join our talented team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting project teams from coast to coast with project procurement strategies to ensure safety, maximize operational efficiencies, stay under budget, and solve purchasing and logistics problems. You will foster partnerships with project teams and vendors focusing on lowest installed cost strategies needed to complete projects.
What you’ll do:
Work with project teams and vendors to negotiate project procurement plans and packages
Act as a material subject matter expert resource to project managers
Be resourceful in locating hard-to-find materials
Ensure orders are complete by asking thorough questions
Review, monitor, and control the creation and execution of purchase order requests from project teams
Pursue and negotiate available vendor documents
Make recommendations to increase efficiency and drive greater value
Assist with the training and rollout of any purchasing processes and system changes
Facilitate the resolution of material and/or logistics issues with vendors
Monitor the purchase order status with project teams to ensure timely completion
Work with the project and accounting teams to correct coding and/or data entry errors related to purchase orders and invoices that impact timely vendor payments
Who you are:
4 year degree preferred
2+ years of experience with degree, 5+ years of experience without degree
Purchasing/procurement field experience, construction is a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of organization
Excels at time management and prioritization, consistently meeting deadlines while generating high-quality work
Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications
Experience with procurement software, especially Coupa, is a plus

What we offer:
The annual base pay for this role is between $80,000 - $105,000. The actual pay is dependent upon many factors, including: location, work experience, education, training, transferable skills, business needs, and market conditions.
