Nevell Group, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Estimator to join our Preconstruction Team in Concord, CA.
This position plays a key role in the success of our estimating efforts responsible for developing accurate and competitive estimates for large-scale commercial wall system projects. The Senior Estimator will analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to determine project costs, while leading estimating initiatives that drive NGi's continued growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the preparation of detailed estimates for interior and exterior wall system projects Interpret and analyze plans, specifications, and contract documents to define project scope Develop quantity take-offs, pricing strategies, and bid proposals Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients during preconstruction Analyze historical cost data and market conditions to ensure accuracy and competitiveness Manage bid schedules, subcontractor outreach, and vendor coordination Identify risks, value engineering opportunities, and constructability considerations Mentor and develop junior estimators within the team Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred 7+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating, preferably in wall systems (drywall, framing, plaster, etc.) Technical Skills & Software
Proficient in On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Bluebeam, and other estimating or accounting software Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite Familiarity with scheduling software is a plus Qualifications & Attributes
Deep understanding of construction methods, materials, and bid processes Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously Demonstrated leadership and mentoring ability within a team environment Collaborative mindset and attention to detail Additional Requirements
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic construction environment
