
Communications Specialist - Public Safety

The
Public Safety Communication Specialist
will answer all incoming calls and radio transmissions and have central control over all Public Safety databases and programs accessing that data, maintaining the accuracy of all database generated data.
Monitor and respond to the intelligent CCTV alarm recognition system, monitor and respond to alarms generated from the card access, fire, HVAC, emergency phone and other facility-related systems in order to foster communication and aid in problem-solving Serves as the first point of contact for situations involving on and off-site facilities while allocating and directing assets, people and resources to help resolve incidents/events Receives, relays, and/or transmits routine and emergency calls to police, fire, and other public safety units by responding to alarm detections/activations and notifying the appropriate groups to ensure a timely response Maintain accurate up to date file and logs and prepare reports as required HOURS:
Full Time, 40hrs per week Sat. & Sun. 6pm - 6:30am Thurs. & Fri. 2p - 10:30p REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of a High School diploma, GED, Certificate of Completion or equivalent achievement required 1 year experience at a dispatch, call center, or operations center in a policing, security, military, or public safety setting preferred Valid State of Florida Driver's License Valid State of Florida Security License Class D Obtain within 6 months and recertify as required in CPR, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training, Proper Use of Physical Restraints, Safe Driving Course
Salary Range:
Minimum 16.86/hour - Maximum 26.97/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
