Security Sales Representative (Commercial Security Systems) – Raleigh/Triangle
Location:
Raleigh / Triangle Area, NC (field-based with remote admin time) Compensation Base: $50,000–$60,000 + uncapped commission OTE: Strong six-figure potential (top performers $200k+) About Custom Security Systems (CSS) Custom Security Systems (CSS) designs, installs, and supports commercial security and low-voltage infrastructure across the Triangle and surrounding region. We deliver modern, scalable solutions—access control, video surveillance, intrusion, and managed/cloud services—backed by strong engineering and lifecycle support. We operate with trust and accountability. The Role This is a relationship-driven, solutions-based sales role focused on long-term customer partnerships in the Raleigh/Triangle market. You’ll own the full sales cycle—prospecting through close—selling both project-based installations and recurring services (monitoring/hosting/service agreements where applicable). You’ll also learn estimating and proposal development with structured training and internal support during ramp-up, with a path to independently scoping, estimating, and presenting standard proposals. We’re looking for someone resourceful and adaptable—able to problem-solve, maneuver, and execute without constant direction. Comfort using AI-assisted tools and modern sales tech is a plus. What You’ll Learn Building a territory plan and targeting the right customer profiles Prospecting strategies that consistently generate meetings and pipeline Running discovery, site walks, and needs assessments that uncover real requirements Translating needs into clear scopes and proposal-ready solutions Estimating fundamentals, margin protection, and value-based alternates Change-order discipline and clean handoffs to operations Responsibilities Build and execute a territory plan for the Raleigh/Triangle market (and surrounding areas as needed) Prospect via cold outreach, referrals, networking, industry events, and self-generated leads Build relationships with property/facility managers, operations leaders, owners, and GC/EC partners Create scopes, estimates, and proposals (training + support during ramp-up) Follow CSS estimating standards (labor planning, margin targets, alternates, scope clarity, change-order discipline) Maintain pipeline coverage, forecasting accuracy, and CRM documentation Protect profitability through tight scope, realistic labor, smart alternates, and disciplined change management Represent CSS professionally in the field and at local events Performance Expectations (First 90 Days) Success is measured by training completion, consistent activity, and measurable pipeline progress—not just closed revenue.
