About Penbrothers

Penbrothers is an HR & remote talent management partner and one of the fastest-growing companies in the Philippines. We provide talented Filipinos with global opportunities in high-growth startups and dynamic companies, from the comfort of their own homes. About the Client

Our client is a leading manufacturer of high-quality precast concrete infrastructure products, specializing in stormwater management systems, drainage structures, manholes, catch basins, junction boxes, and custom precast solutions for civil engineering and municipal projects across North and South Carolina. Our focus on precision, quality, and customer service drives us to deliver reliable products that meet stringent standards. We are seeking an experienced Precast Concrete Estimator to support our quoting and production processes. About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Precast Concrete Estimator to analyze civil engineering plans, provide accurate takeoffs and cost estimates for our precast utility products (primarily stormwater and sanitary sewer structures), and produce shop drawings using specialized software. This remote, independent contractor role involves reading and deciphering complex plans, understanding stormwater and sanitary sewer systems, and manipulating Posey to generate submittals, all while ensuring high accuracy and efficiency in our quoting and manufacturing workflow. What you'll do

Read and interpret civil engineering plans, specifications, profiles, and bid documents for stormwater drainage, sanitary sewer, and utility projects. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for precast concrete elements, including manholes, catch basins, inlets, vaults, risers, lids, headwalls/endwalls, and related components (e.g., pipe connections, frames/covers, invert elevations, depths, and accessories). Understand and apply requirements for stormwater and sanitary sewer systems, including hydraulic considerations, invert elevations, depths, sizing, and compliance with relevant standards (e.g., local DOT specs, AASHTO, or municipal guidelines). Calculate material quantities, production needs, and preliminary costs to support quoting and bidding processes. Manipulate and utilize Posey software (or similar precast-specific tools) to generate accurate shop drawings, submittal packages, and production details for manufacturing. Collaborate remotely with our team via email, calls, file sharing, and project management tools to clarify project details, resolve questions, and deliver timely outputs. Ensure all estimates and drawings meet high standards for accuracy, clarity, and manufacturability to minimize revisions and support efficient production. What you bring

Minimum Bachelor's degree (BS) in Civil Engineering (or a closely related field such as Structural Engineering or Construction Engineering). Proven experience as a Precast Concrete Estimator, detailer, or similar role in the precast/utility concrete industry (minimum 3+ years preferred). Strong ability to read and decipher civil/structural engineering plans, including plan views, profiles, sections, details, and callouts for drainage and sewer infrastructure. In-depth knowledge of stormwater and sanitary sewer precast products (manholes, catch basins, vaults, etc.), including standard sizing, depths, reinforcement, and installation considerations. Proficiency in Posey software for producing precast shop drawings, submittals, and fabrication details (hands-on experience required; if using a comparable tool like IMPACT, ALLPLAN Precast, or Revit-based precast add-ons, please note equivalents). Excellent attention to detail, strong mathematical skills, and ability to produce error-free takeoffs and drawings under deadlines. Self-starter with reliable internet, computer setup, and proficiency in common tools (PDF viewers, Excel for takeoffs, cloud file sharing). Ability to work independently with clear communication in English. Preferred Skills

Experience with additional precast software (e.g., Revit, Tekla, ALLPLAN, StruSoft IMPACT, or similar). Familiarity with North Carolina or regional utility standards (NCDOT, municipal specs). - Background in precast manufacturing or quality control. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator). Our Hiring Process
