Sterling Structures is seeking an experienced
Senior
Construction Superintendent
to lead on-site construction activities for K–12 ground-up and renovation projects throughout the Houston area. This role is critical to the success of our projects and requires a hands-on leader who understands the unique demands of school construction, including working within active or occupied campuses. Strong
communication and coordination skills
are essential for this position. The Superintendent will serve as the day-to-day liaison between field teams, project management, subcontractors, inspectors, and school district representatives. The ideal candidate can clearly communicate expectations, proactively resolve issues, and keep all stakeholders aligned to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project closeout Supervise K–12 ground-up and renovation projects, including work in active or occupied school environments Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and field personnel Maintain and drive project schedules, proactively identifying and resolving issues that could impact progress Enforce jobsite safety standards, company policies, and OSHA regulations Conduct daily site walks, coordination meetings, and toolbox talks Work closely with Project Managers, Owners, Architects, Engineers, and school district representatives Ensure all work complies with construction documents, local codes, and district requirements Create project schedules while coordinating with the project manager Maintain accurate daily reports, schedules, progress photos, and field documentation Oversee quality control, punch lists, inspections, and final closeout activities Serve as Sterling Structures’ on-site representative and primary point of contact Qualifications
10+ years of experience
as a Superintendent in commercial construction Strong preference for
K–12 ground-up and renovation experience Proven experience working on
occupied or active campuses Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Proficiency with construction scheduling and reporting tools OSHA 30 certification preferred Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Must be
based in Houston, Texas
