Job Description Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Job Evaluation Specialist to support their Human Resources/Compensation team. This role is responsible for evaluating job roles, providing compensation guidance, and ensuring alignment with internal and external market standards. The position requires strong Excel skills and experience with job evaluation methodology. This is a temporary role with potential to convert to permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct position evaluations and analyze job responsibilities, skills, and requirements.

Develop and maintain job descriptions and specifications.

Perform market research to ensure competitive pay practices and internal equity.

Provide guidance to managers on compensation decisions, ad-hoc pay changes, and hiring ranges.

Utilize PeopleSoft to manage data integrity and process compensation transactions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, Payroll, and IT.

Apply compensation principles to maintain market competitiveness and internal consistency.

Assist with improving compensation processes and provide recommendations for efficiency.

Qualifications

3-5 years of experience in compensation administration or job evaluation.

Strong expertise in Excel (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, data matching).

Knowledge of employment law and compensation practices.

Experience analyzing hourly employee roles.

Comfortable working in union and non-union environments.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Experience in higher education is a plus.

Familiarity with PeopleSoft preferred.
