Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented
E&I Designer
for a full time position with a confidential client in Lafayette, LA. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a strong background in electrical and instrumentation design to contribute to impactful projects in a collaborative, office-based environment. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in AutoCAD, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality, cost-effective designs while supporting project teams from concept through completion. Responsibilities
Understands drafting requirements for electrical and instrumentation systems. Adapts to client drafting standards and specifications for assigned projects. Designs systems according to established design guidelines and criteria. Ensures constructability, operability, and maintainability of designs. Provides comprehensive, efficient, and cost-effective technical input for projects. Prepares detailed design drawings in accordance with engineering design requirements. Guides drafters and coordinates with Lead Designers to ensure timely, accurate deliverables. Maintains and organizes a Job Data Book containing all relevant project information. Reviews drawings for completeness, quality, and adherence to standards. Ensures all drawings are properly checked and backchecked. Prepares final drawing plots and copies for transmittal as part of project deliverables. Maintains awareness of project schedules and budgets. Assists with project audits as needed. Requirements/Skills
High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree in CAD preferred. Minimum of 5 years of E&I design experience using AutoCAD. Strong understanding of facilities drawings, cable routing, cable tray routing, cable schedules, motor starter schematics, I/O lists, panel design, wiring diagrams, and schematics. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Self-motivated, organized, creative, and detail-oriented with a solution-focused approach. Previous experience in Oil & Gas projects preferred.
