We are looking for a
Family Engagement Specialist
to join our team. Our work is challenging, but we strive to create strong teams and love to learn and laugh together. As a Family Engagement Specialist, you will be responsible for facilitating family meetings and providing in-home support to strengthen families in their homes. You will coach parents to have safe and nurturing time with their children who are placed in DCF custody, and support them to meet the needs of their children in the moment. You will also call extended family members to explore familial support and create genograms. While we work closely with the Department of Children and Families - Family Services Division, we have our own separate and comfortable offices. We are searching for candidates who understand the complex issues facing families including past trauma, substance use disorders, domestic violence, mental health issues and generational poverty. Extensive training and supervision are provided.
Responsibilities Responsibilities include:
Facilitate family meetings and provide in-home support to strengthen families; coach parents to provide safe and nurturing time with children in DCF custody; support families to meet children’s needs in the moment; call extended family members to explore familial support and develop genograms; collaborate with the Department of Children and Families — Family Services Division; contribute to a supportive, family-centered approach in a respectful, trauma-informed environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field preferred
Two years of human services experience preferred
Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills
Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a background check are required
Your own reliable vehicle with insurance that meets our coverage limits is required
Hours Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, between the hours of 8:30am - 5pm. We are hoping for flexibility to support parents’ individual schedules. We support a healthy work/life balance in this job.
Compensation Starting $20 hourly. Additional compensation is based upon experience and degree ($20.50 for Associate’s degree; $21.00 for Bachelor’s degree; $22.50 for Master’s degree).
