The Communications & Community Outreach Associate provides support for a broad scope of communications, marketing, outreach, and event-related activities to develop and implement strategic communications efforts for Home Front Military Network (HFMN). This position plays a key role in increasing awareness of HFMN programs, strengthening relationships with partners and stakeholders, supporting fundraising and outreach events, and ensuring consistent, high-quality communications across all platforms. The Communications & Community Outreach Associate duties include but are not limited to the following:
Strategic Communications & Marketing
Assist in the development and implementation of HFMN’s strategic communications plan, including communications and outreach with partner agencies, donors, consumers, and other stakeholders. Write, coordinate, and manage print and electronic communications projects, including e-newsletters, website content, blog content, and other communications materials. Develop graphics and content for e-newsletters, brochures, outreach and informational materials and distribute them to stakeholders. Manage and maintain stakeholder contact lists. Manage and update HFMN’s website and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) to ensure content is current, accurate, and engaging. Monitor, track, and report on website traffic, social media engagement, outreach metrics, and other communications data using tools such as Google Analytics. Work with the HFMN case management team and Program Director to identify clients to feature as testimonials and share HFMN success stories across multiple platforms and formats. Community Outreach & Partnerships
Coordinate and provide support for HFMN outreach activities, including maintaining outreach and event calendars, staffing outreach events, and tracking/reporting outreach metrics. Provide planning and communications support for fundraising events and other outreach activities. Coordinate with HFMN partners, VA, military installations, and other stakeholders regarding opportunities for collaborative outreach events. Represent HFMN at military, veteran, and community events to conduct outreach and provide information about HFMN programs and resources. Manage and maintain the Network of Care Community Calendar in collaboration with HFMN staff and partners to ensure events are current and accurate. Coordinate with the Program Director to connect potential clients contacted through outreach events with the case management team, as appropriate. Monitor the HFMN information email account and respond to inquiries or ensure communications are forwarded to appropriate staff members. Participate in HFMN Event Committee and subcommittees. Staff HFMN fundraising, outreach, and special events, as needed. Other Duties
Perform other duties as assigned to support HFMN’s mission and operations. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or related field. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Constant Contact, WordPress, survey tools (e.g., SurveyMonkey), and Google Analytics. Experience working with nonprofit organizations. Experience working with service members, veterans, and their families preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentations. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Ability to network and build relationships with individuals, agencies, corporations, and other stakeholders. Other combinations of experience and education that meet minimum qualifications may be considered. The individual in this position must be able to work independently while also being a strong team player. Salary range: $3,350-$3,750 per month based on experience HFMN offers a flexible work schedule, group Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, Colorado FAMLI Leave, optional Colorado Secure Savings, as well as accrued Paid Time Off and twelve paid holidays per year.
