Overview
The Assistant Golf Manager assists in the daily clubhouse and customer service operations of the City's two 9-hole golf courses. This position focuses on front-of-house management, staff supervision, customer experience, financial controls, retail and food and beverage operations, and administrative support. The Assistant Golf Manager works under the direction of the Golf Manager and coordinates with maintenance and greenkeeping staff as needed to ensure smooth overall course operations.
Responsibilities Assist with supervision and staffing of clubhouse operations, including supervision of clubhouse personnel such as starters, rangers and seasonal front-line staff; determine daily and seasonal staffing schedules; and train staff on customer service standards, tee time systems, cash handling procedures, point-of-sale systems and City policies.
Oversee daily clubhouse operations to ensure a positive customer experience; assist with opening and closing procedures; ensure compliance with customer service, safety, and operational standards.
Assist in administration of tee reservations and play management; manage tee sheets, starting procedures, pace-of-play standards, and ranger activities; communicate with maintenance staff regarding course conditions.
Handle customer/member inquiries, complaints, and service recovery; resolve routine issues and escalate complex matters to the Golf Manager when necessary.
Assist with food and beverage and retail operations; ensure compliance with all food safety and alcohol service regulations; assist with inventory control, ordering, pricing, and sales tracking; support purchasing, inventory management, merchandising and sales analysis; ensure proper display and security of merchandise.
Assist with financial and administrative duties; receive, reconcile, and report daily revenues in accordance with City policies; assist with deposits, documentation, and internal controls.
Support marketing, promotions, and special events; assist with marketing initiatives, leagues, tournaments, lessons, and special events; coordinate with instructors and teaching professionals as needed.
Assist with facility oversight; ensure clubhouse cleanliness, functionality, and safety; report facility maintenance needs to the Golf Manager or appropriate division managers.
Act in the absence of the Golf Manager as assigned for clubhouse operations.
Other related responsibilities as assigned.

Education And Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business administration, hospitality management, recreation management or related field preferred.
At least 2-4 years of experience in golf clubhouse operations, hospitality, or recreational facility management, including lead or supervisory responsibilities.
A combination of relevant work and education experience will be considered.
Strong knowledge of golf clubhouse operations, customer service best practices, point-of-sale systems, and tee time management.
Working knowledge of applicable food and alcohol regulations.
Physical And Environmental Requirements Must be able to lift over 50 lbs.
Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to work outside in extreme conditions.
