About the Role Join our team supporting the National Park Service (NPS) Denver Service Center as a Contract Specialist. You will play a key role in federal acquisition and contract administration for large-scale design and construction projects nationwide. This is a remote position supporting the NPS mission to preserve and protect America’s national parks.
Responsibilities
Conduct acquisition planning and market research in coordination with project teams and the Contracting Officer.
Prepare and issue solicitations, Requests for Proposals/Quotes, and amendments.
Review proposals/quotes for responsiveness and participate in source selection activities.
Assist with cost/price analysis, negotiations, and documentation of source selection activities.
Process contract awards, modifications, and closeout documents.
Maintain official contract files and resolve payment or contract administration issues.
Ensure compliance with federal acquisition regulations and NPS policies.
Support reporting, template development, and process improvement initiatives as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (any field) OR 20+ years of contracting/acquisition/procurement experience OR 24 semester hours in business-related disciplines (accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management) plus Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) Professional or DAWIA equivalent.
At least 5 years of federal government contracting experience.
At least 5 years of construction contracting experience.
At least 3 years of architect-engineer services contracting experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances and complete IT security training.
U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with NPS, Department of the Interior, or similar federal agencies.
Familiarity with FPDS, PRISM, FBMS, and other federal procurement systems.
Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver high-quality, timely results in a remote environment.
Work Environment & Benefits 100% remote work; must provide own home office setup.
Standard work hours: 8 hours/day, Monday–Friday, with core hours 9:00 am–3:00 pm MT.
Federal holidays off.
