A Snapshot of Your Day As a member of the SE Customs team in Portugal you will actively contribute to fulfilling the customs compliance responsibilities related to customs data management, preferential and non-preferential origin determination, and customs documents validation for our European footprint. You will be part of a team within our European network where you can bring in our gained expertise and communication skills on a daily basis.

How You’ll Make a Difference

Review and upload checked Export Documentation, like Certificates of Origin or supplier declarations, into our SAP systems.

Process orders in our transport system Kanlog for certain projects.

Determine preferential and non-preferential origin based on available information, checking assigned preferential and non-preferential status in our SAP systems.

Request and maintain received export data forms, certificates of origin, and supplier declarations to assist procurement activities. Check received data according to Siemens Energy standards and procedures. Deny and request corrected data as part of the role, maintaining checked data in our SAP systems.

Solicit and check maintenance of supplier declarations from our suppliers. Archive according to Siemens Energy standards and procedures.

Review correctness of Customs/VAT invoices from freight forwarders according to Siemens Energy standards and procedures.

What You Bring

Background and practice in the field of customs/freight forwarding or a complete university degree (e.g., business administration, law, international trade).

1 to 3 years of experience in customs processes – preferential/non-preferential origin and customs tariff determination for export, import, export.

International experience (work in international teams, work abroad) is a definite plus.

Experience with customs/ERP IT systems such as SAP.

Fluency in English; German skills would be a plus.

Strong analytical skills and detail-oriented.

Responsibility, organization, communication, and assertiveness skills are valued attributes.

In this role you will follow the internal rules and regulations as established by your organization and the relevant legal entity you work for.

While performing your tasks, you always have an open mind to identify and report room for improvement and process flaws.
