The Crown Publishing Group is seeking a Marketing Assistant to join the Crown and Crown Currency imprints. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on bestselling literary and commercial fiction, as well as critically acclaimed non-fiction in the current affairs, social justice, politics, history, self-improvement, and business categories. Crown publishes notable authors such as President Barack Obama, former First Lady Michelle Obama, Rachel Maddow, Erik Larson, Eddie S. Glaude Jr., Matthew McConaughey, Timothy Snyder, Matthew Desmond, Alex Karp, Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings, Liane Moriarty, Chris Whitaker, and Virginia Evans. As Marketing Assistant, you will report to the Vice President, Director of Marketing, while also working closely with core marketing team members to drive title promotions and develop and hone your skills. This position is responsible for helping to bring our publications to the largest possible readership through innovative marketing campaigns. This is a critical role in a creative and fast-paced group, working closely with many colleagues in other departments within the division, especially Publicity, Editorial, Sales, and Design. The role is ideal for someone who is a lover of books across fiction and non-fiction and is a solutions-focused innovative thinker, as well as a digital native who enjoys creating content that resonates across audiences, with the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time in a deadline-driven environment. Responsibilities

Perform essential marketing functions including research of influencers and organizations unique to each book, along with outreach and mailings to get books into taste-makers hands, as well as organizing Goodreads and reader promotions. Assist the Crown marketing team with day-to-day administrative and scheduling needs and help with handling monthly expense reports. Coordinate title-specific campaigns including digital outreach, digital content creation (author videos and editing of social media graphics), author platform building, consumer research projects, and audience development. Contribute content to e-newsletters, websites, social media platforms, and cross-promotional opportunities, to promote our titles and authors. Qualifications

Interest in and enthusiasm for book publishing industry Exceptional attention to detail, the ability to prioritize, and strong follow-up skills Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask Strong communication skills, both verbal & written A team player with the ability to build internal & external relationships Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Ability to take initiative and problem-solve creatively Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Canva, as well as editing/creating video, and use of related design and video tools are a plus A background with multi-cultural marketing or experience a plus Proficiency with using social media platforms as a marketing tool Position details

The position of Marketing Assistant, Crown and Crown Currency is a hybrid position with in-office responsibilities for a minimum of 3 days per week. We will consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NJ, CT, & PA). The salary for this position is $51,000.
